Zoe Xandra

ZOE XANDRA is a New York City born dancer, instructor, choreographer, performer and singer.

At the age of three she began figure skating at Skyrink, and studying at one of the dance industry’s most prominent companies, The Joffrey Ballet. Many years later she discovered Tango, and ever since she has been completely taken by its beauty, connectivity and boundless creativity. She also works with Argentine Folklore.

In 2009 she traveled to Argentina to learn more about Tango's history, and to immerse herself in the culture where it originated. Amongst her teachers are Sara Grdan and Ivan Terrazas, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, Mariano “Chicho” Frumboli and Juana Sepulveda, Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Pablo Pugliese, and more. Her background also includes Hip-Hop and Modern Dance along with extensive singers and actors training.

In her teaching and her exhibitions she incorporates elements from Alexander Technique, proper breathing for all movement, and energy work. She also offers a wealth of knowledge on fitness and nutrition. Her Waldorf Education taught her to balance artistic, academic and practical work to educate the whole person, body, heart and mind. She encourages imagination and creativity along with proper technique and a sense of responsibility for everyone on and around the dance floor.
